I am running for Plainfield Board of Education because I believe that the children of Plainfield deserve an excellent education and that we as a community owe it to them to work together to provide them with the best. As a member of the Plainfield Board of Education I will fight for better schools and stable taxes.
While many advances have been made in the area of early childhood and elementary education, we still have a lot of work to do to improve education throughout our school district, especially at the middle and high school levels.
We need to:
- Improve academic performance by creating effective small learning communities where our students can receive targeted instruction and support.
- Improve safety and security in our schools so that our children can focus on learning.
- Increase family and community involvement in our schools through proactive outreach and meaningful programming.
- Fight to protect state funding so that our children continue to receive the resources they need while keeping our local property taxes stable.
